In the Married At First Sight experiment, the brides and grooms looked for love, and for some of them, they found it. However, for some people, their search for love was derailed by a lack of chemistry, a lack of ignition, or a scandal that turned a potential relationship into a disaster. The newlyweds and grooms have left the experiment and are once again living their lives outside of it while looking for love in all of its forms. MAFS Australia

The Danish television series of the same name has been adapted for the Australian market as Married At First Sight. In the program, a bunch of strangers take part in a social experiment and are coupled up with professionals. Due to legal limits, marriages between the spouses are not legally binding as required by the Marriage Act of 1961 in Australia. Instead, participants take part in an informal commitment ceremony. On the Nine Network, the series debuted for the first time on May 18, 2015. Between 2015 through 2022, the program ran for nine seasons, plus a two-part reunion special that aired ahead of the 2021 season.

Carolina and Dion

Dion was happy with his pairing, but Carolina was so miffed that she started dating another participant, Daniel Holmes. The judges rejected the couple's request to reapply for the program as a brand-new couple. This didn't discourage the two, who showed up at the reunion holding hands, further insulting their scheduled marriages. But it turns out that the two weren't as shady as they had believed. In an interview, Dion said:

"There were moments in the experience where I thought things were quite odd, or there were times where I'd contact Carolina to see if she'd like to grab a bite to eat for dinner and maybe grab a drink together… she wouldn't answer the phone. Now I know she was with Daniel.'"

Domenica and Jack

When Domenica and Jack got married, they appeared to be the beautiful fantasy of love. Dom remarked that she was "feeling the chemistry," and Jack concurred, saying, "I think the experts have nailed it. Dom is beautiful, she’s lovely, and she seems totally unique.” Although they are still close friends, they admitted that things had "fizzled out" at the reunion dinner party.

Ella and Mitch

Following a very stunning final marriage ceremony, it appears that Ella and Mitchell are no longer dating. "I’m sorry Ella, but right now I just can't give you the commitment I know you want," Mitchell said. After telling Mitch that she was ready to expand their romance, Ella appeared disturbed. However, Mitch admitted that he had erred and the couple was back together in the reunion show. Sadly, it was not to be, as Ella confirmed that the couple had broken up once more.

Holly and Andrew

The relationship between Andrew and Holly didn't exactly start out well, and things became worse after a heated argument. Even though Andrew left the show, we don't know what occurred next because he doesn't have a public Instagram page. Holly has never posted anything but pictures of herself from the program on her Instagram page.

Jessica and Daniel

Daniel Holmes and Jessica Saracino are no longer dating as a result of Jess' decision to withdraw from the study. The pair first grew close, but they later engaged in a series of heated disputes. Daniel connected with fellow participant Carolina Santos after his relationship with Jessica went apart. Soon, Carolina and Daniel began to find solace in one another and they even floated the idea of returning to the series together.

Kate and Matt

Nobody is shocked that Kate and Matt are no longer together after wanting to end their relationship and go their separate ways in the middle of the experiment. Over the course of their brief relationship, Matt failed to win Kate over, and at the third Commitment Ceremony, the couple scribbled "leave," ending their participation in the experiment. They continue to follow one another on Instagram, which may indicate that they are still close friends. There wasn't much chemistry between Kate and Matt. In fact, their kiss on the wedding day was awkward at best. From that point on, it was essentially all downhill with numerous difficult situations. They ultimately made the decision to part ways, with Kate writing "leave" for a second consecutive week.

Olivia and Jackson

Jackson and Olivia are extremely much in love as seen by their announcement that they will be moving in together during the reunion. Because they are so in love, they maintained their word and moved in together. Jackson shared the details of the transfer via Instagram stories. "Central Coast is unreal. I absolutely love it up there, being by the beach, flat out is awesome," he said. Jackson added that their following move was to "build our funds, go travelling and see what happens. Just do life."  Although the two do intend to have children in the future, they would first like to add a few more stamps to their passports as a couple.

Sam and Al

Al was new to dating and had never been in a committed relationship before to joining the show. Has Samantha proven to be the one for him? Most likely, she hasn't. It looked hopeful when Samantha tweeted a photo of the couple on their wedding day, but the message reads, "We might not have loved but we definitely did laugh." It's good to see a breakup given a positive twist.

Selin and Anthony

Selin and Anthony bonded immediately after meeting, however their relationship has since ended. Following a huge argument at a dinner party, the couple decided to call it quits during a commitment ceremony.

Selina and Cody

Cody has told his wife she asked too many queries on their wedding day, among other unpleasant times the couple has had. He continued by confessing that on their honeymoon, he didn't have a sexual attraction to Selina. The two opted to stay at the first commitment ceremony after Cody made a series of insulting remarks for which he was later obliged to apologize. However, the drama doesn't stop there since Cody revealed that he had dumped his wife the previous evening during the reunion dinner party.

Tamara and Brent

A resounding no. Tamara and Brent's relationship didn't exactly get off to a good start when Brent told the cameras, "My wife is a psychopath." The couple was photographed holding hands, but they no longer exchange Instagram follows, and Tamara was also sighted without her engagement ring just hours before the show's premiere last month.
