When will the selection process start


Air Chief VR Choudhary said the selection process by the Air Force under the Agneepath scheme would begin from June 24, while the Army said it would formally start the process within two days by issuing a preliminary notification for the recruitment. At the same time, the Navy said that it will start the recruitment process 'very soon'. A senior Navy Commander said that the notification for the recruitment will be issued within a week.


The first batch of Agniveers will be ready by June next year


Senior military officials said that the three armed forces are planning to deploy the first batch of recruits in both operational and non-operational roles under the new scheme by June next year. Officials also said that the protesting youth are not fully aware of the benefits of Agneepath scheme.


In an attempt to pacify the protesters, the government on Thursday night raised the upper age limit for the recruitment of soldiers under the scheme from 21 to 23 years for 2022.

Defense Minister said this in Jammu and Kashmir


Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who is on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, said that in an effort to address the concerns of the youth opposing the 'Agneepath scheme' for recruitment in the armed forces, this new scheme will help the youth of India from the defense system of the country. This is a golden opportunity to join and serve the country. The Defense Minister said that the recruitment process of the army is going to start in a few days. He appealed to the protesting youth to get ready for it.

On Tuesday, the Center announced this new scheme. The announcement was made in view of the suspension of recruitment in the armed forces for more than two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pandey said that the decision to increase the age limit from 21 years to 23 years for 2022 under the 'Agneepath' scheme will provide an opportunity to those youths who are preparing to join the army, but have Could not do this for two years due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.

Air Chief Marshal Choudhary said that the age limit for the recruits (in the armed forces) under the Agneepath scheme for 2022 has been increased to 23 years, so that a larger number of youth can be recruited in the armed forces.


He said, “The government has recently brought out the Agneepath scheme for recruitment in the armed forces. The minimum age for the scheme is 17 and a half years and the maximum age limit is 21 years. I am happy to inform that the upper age limit for the first recruitment has been increased to 23 years. The selection process for the Air Force will start from June 24.


In a statement, the Navy said that the increase in the upper age limit will pave the way for recruitment of youth who could not join the armed forces due to temporary halt of recruitment due to the Kovid epidemic. It said, 'The Navy is ready to welcome the first batch of firefighters...' Army officials said that the Army will issue an initial notification for the recruitment in two days.
