Maharashtra MLC Polls: In Maharashtra, 10 seats of the Legislative Council are vacant and 11 candidates are in the fray. In such a situation, the competition is expected to be interesting. But Shiv Sena has become alert after BJP's victory in the Rajya Sabha elections.
Maharashtra MLC Polls: Ahead of the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, Shiv Sena has decided to take its MLAs to a luxury hotel in Powai, northeast Mumbai. The Shiv Sena has taken this decision due to the victory of BJP in the Rajya Sabha elections held last week.
Top leaders meeting convened
The ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)-led party had called its MLAs for a meeting with top leaders. asked to be together in the election

The meeting was addressed by Shiv Sena leaders Vinayak Raut, Anil Desai, Eknath Shinde, Anil Parab and Sunil Prabhu. An MLA who attended the meeting said, "We were addressed by top party leaders and asked to be together in this election."
The party leader, on condition of anonymity, said, "The MLA will stay at Hotel Renaissance." Like the Rajya Sabha elections, the contest is expected to be close as 11 candidates are in the fray for the 10 vacant seats in the Legislative Council. The elections are to be held on June 20.
BJP said - will make a new strategy
On the other hand, BJP leader and Union Minister Raosaheb Danve said on Thursday that after much deliberation, BJP has fielded five candidates in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Council elections. Also, the party will adopt a different strategy from the Rajya Sabha elections. Former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was credited for the victory of BJP's third candidate in the six Rajya Sabha seats from the state on June 10. In fact, he had garnered the support of independent legislators and legislators of smaller parties in the state.
Minister of State for Railways Danve had said, 'Devendra Fadnavis defeated Mahavikas Aghadi in the Rajya Sabha elections. Now the MVA has learned our strategy, so we will not use the earlier trick in the Legislative Council elections, but will adopt a different strategy.
