Agnipath Scheme Protest Updates: There is an ongoing protest in many cities of the country against the new Agnipath Scheme of the Central Government for recruitment in the three armies. The continuous violent protests on this issue have increased the concern of the government. In view of the situation, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is going to hold a review meeting in the Defense Ministry today. Senior officers of the three services will participate in this meeting. In the meeting, a big decision can be taken to calm the situation.


Student organizations called for 'Bihar Bandh' today


Today student organizations have called for a Bihar bandh against the Agnipath scheme. An appeal has been made for a mass bandh in Bihar today on behalf of Left Wing student organization AISA and Rozgar Sangharsh United Front. AISF has also given its support to this call of Bihar Bandh. Workers of RJD and HAM party will also take to the streets today in support of this bandh. In such a situation, there is a possibility of the situation getting worse today.


Internet service closed in these 14 districts


To control the situation, internet services have been temporarily suspended in 12 districts of Bihar and 2 districts of Haryana. Internet has been suspended till June 19 in Bhojpur, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Buxar, Nawada, West Champaran, Samastipur, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Vaishali and Saran districts of Bihar. The Haryana government has also suspended mobile internet and SMS services for 24 hours in Ballabhgarh and Mahendragarh areas of Faridabad district as a precautionary measure.


260 protesters arrested in UP


Talking about UP, 260 protesters have been arrested in connection with the violence against the Agnipath scheme. Along with this 12 FIRs have also been registered. Ballia District Magistrate Soumya Agarwal said that in view of the recent protest against the 'Agneepath' scheme, Section 144 has been imposed prohibiting the gathering of more than 5 people in the district for the next two months.



BKU will perform on June 30


Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Kisan Union, which claims to do farmers' politics, has also embraced this issue. Union's national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait said that BKU workers will protest against this scheme on June 30 at all district headquarters of the country. Describing this scheme as anti-youth, he has demanded the government to withdraw it immediately.
